This has been on my mind for a long time, a very long time.
I live in Manheim, PA and Route 283 is only a few miles away. Getting on 283 is not necessary most of the time, but it is just easier to get on the highway and get there.
I can't stand moron drivers. You know the ones that pull out in front of you only to go 15 miles below the speed limit and nobody was behind you. Then they make a left hand turn and it takes forever.
Well, you don't really get this kind of idiot on 772 from Manheim to 283. You get another kind. You see, in Manheim the speed limit is 30 mph, then once you leave town it goes up to 35 mph. After a little the speed limit goes up again to 40, THEN it goes to 55 mph to finish out the ride to 283.
Now, I tend to go 5 mph above the speed limit, except in the 30 mph zone I try to keep it to 30 there. But after that, I'm 5 mph above.
Here's the thing, if you start at the Manheim Square, follow 772 to 283, and follow my driving logic (meaning you go 30 in the 30, 40 in the 35, 45 in the 40, and 60 in the 55). If you get a car behind you they'll ride your ass in each speed zone, until you get to the 55 and then the car will start to fade in your rear view. Meaning they like to drive really fast except when they're allowed. If there is a car in front of you it's just the opposite. You probably won't be able to keep up with them, then when you get to the 55, they will slow down to like 40-45 mph.
This happens to me 90% of the time I travel on that road (when it's not under construction). I don't get it, makes no damn sense why you would want to speed through a 30 zone, when there are sidewalks, more people, and then get to an open road and just go slow.
I need a James Bond car.
